Journey to Alison

More Tuesday April 17...

Hi everyone!
First off, thank you so much for all of the lovely comments and wishes. They mean so much to us and we miss you guys. I would like to tell you a bit about our daughter. Right now she is upstairs sleeping and being watched very closely by her daddy.

Allie is such a good little girl. She has a smile (with 14 very sharp teeth) a mile wide and an infectious giggle. She is a little tornado that has destroyed the hotel room at least 5 times already. She loves shoes and is facinated by ours and trys to carry them around and hide them in the room. She is so very curious and can be seen throwing things under the beds just so she can lay on her tummy and see where they go. She is trying to learn to drink out of a water bottle so all of our water has baby backwash in it (the water is not drinkable in China so we are keeping the Chinese economy afloat by buying bottles of water). Last night she woke up and I broke all rules of mommyhood and let her sleep with me. So I didn't get much sleep as I was so busy watching her and wondering what she was thinking about all of this. She loves to carry toys around and then throw them. She cuddles and gives the wettest kisses ever and fell asleep in my arms that first night. Now that is the only place she will go to sleep. She adores looking at herself in the mirror, window reflections, and elevator doors and will blow kisses to herself.
Today she was officially adopted into our family. I already am smitten and cannot imagine not having her here. I can't wait for all of you to meet my daughter.
Tami

Well, we just blew the first half hour of work being part of your journey. We can tell by the pictures how thrilled all three of you are, after so much anticipation. I would say Ali is worth the wait! Neel is here this morning and is now part of the story too. And thanks for remembering Flo - she has quite a story, too. Alexa at work

Congratulations! I finally got to reading this and I'm at work and alternately laughing and crying. Whew! I am so happy for you all. Allie has been blessed with 2 wonderful parents. I truly believed this is all part of God's plan for Allie and for you both. I can't wait to meet her in person. Thank you for allowing me to be part of this wonderful event!

Hi Blair and Tami, I just caught Donald up on the entire blog. He is impressed as am I at how much information and emotion you are sending. Blair, We never would have dreamed this is where you would be when we met 14 or so years ago. Isn't God a wonderful God! We can't even think up the great things He has in store for us. Many blessings to you all and I also, can't wait to see beautiful Allie. I plan to stop at your place first so I am not a mess(dirty) so I can hold her!
Our Prayers are w/ you for a safe return. Donald and Jan

P.S. Max was great when I saw him. woof! :)

    Hi Budda, Tami and Allie,
You guys are hilarious. Can't wait for the Max meets Allie episode. Everyone is asking what size clothes Allie wears. This is the best picture/story book I have ever read. I can not wait to get to work so I can see what you are doing.
